Ex-Sheboygan Mayor arrested for drunken driving Sunday

KIEL, WI (WTAQ) - The troubled former mayor of Sheboygan has been arrested after being stopped for alleged drunken driving.

Kiel police says Bob Ryan was stopped while driving eastbound on County Highway XX, near State Highway 67, around 11:54 p.m. Sunday.

After the stop, Ryan was arrested and taken to Holy Family Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc for a legal blood draw.

Ryan was then transported to the Manitowoc County Jail where he was held on a 12 hour detention.

Ryan was issued a citation for OWI and his initial court appearance is schedule for Tuesday, April 23rd.

Last month, Ryan agreed to a plea deal for allegedly groping a woman at an Elkhart Lake bar in July 2011. That incident caused his recall election one year ago, where he was ousted as Sheboygan's mayor.
