MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) - No charges have been filed against a Manitowoc man who was arrested after his killing his brother with a shotgun Sunday morning.
65-year-old Robert Sullivan was released from jail Tuesday afternoon.
He was taken into custody at the brothers’ shared home after Robert called 911 and told dispatchers he shot his brother, 62-year-old Carey Sullivan.
Police say Carey was shot at close range.
Detectives say Robert shot his brother during a heated argument over the control of their parents’ estate.
According to a press release, the police department continues to receive information pertaining to the investigation, including information related to self-defense. They also note the victim’s history of threatening and aggressive behavior, while Robert has no history.
The Manitowoc Police Department continues to investigate and the District Attorney’s office will continue to review all information to determine whether a complaint should be issued.
