Cincinnati spoiled the Fathers Day for the Milwaukee Brewers as the Reds scored a 5-1 victory at the Great American Ballpark Sunday. Carlos Gomez hit his 12th home run of the season, a solo shot in the first, but that's all the offense Milwaukee could muster against Johnny Cueto who returned from the disabled list to toss six innings, allowing just the run on five hits. Wily Peralta took the loss (4-8), giving up 7 hits and five runs, four of them earned in five and a third innings. Jay Bruce took him deep and Donald Lutz knocked him out with a pinch hit, two run single in the 6th. The Brewers fall to 28-40, last in the NL Central and they have an off day Monday before opening a series in Houston against the Astros.
Ryan Braun was placed on the 15 day disabled list over the weekend because of that thumb injury. In Nashville, Mike Fiers was hit on the forearm Saturday night and broke the bone in his arm, he will be lost for up to 12 weeks.
The Brewers signed their number one draft choice over the weekend. Pitcher Devin Williams of Hazelwood High School in Missouri got a nice graduation present, signing for 1.35 million dollars.
