GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Green Bay's Public Works Department and Sanitation division is starting to work on a new bulk waste pick-up policy.
The Improvement and Service Committee heard from residents Wednesday about a possible plan to offer four free yearly bulk waste pick-ups with certain restrictions. A fee would be charged for the rest of the year.
On May 20th, residents were supposed to start seeing a fee, until complaints came in. Currently, there is no fee for bulk waste pick-up, unless it involves a move-out or moving-in scenario.
Public Works Director Steve Grainer says the current policy that offers free bulk waste pick is costly and inefficient and was looking for some direction from alderman and residents on how to improve it.
Public Works is drafting a new policy which should be ready by July.
