GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The Green Bay Redevelopment Authority has approved a deal to sell the Clarion Hotel to the current management company of the hotel.
The city purchased the hotel that had been in receivership back in March for $2.85 million to ensure the expansion of the KI Convention Center could move forward.
American Hospitality Management has agreed to purchase the hotel for $2.7 million and invest another $4 million into renovations.
City Planning Director Rob Strong considers the $150,000 difference an investment saying the city gained easements, footings, as well as space for meeting rooms that are planned for the expansion of the convention center.
The city is also working on buying the adjacent Coaches Corner building to make way for the expansion.
