Bad news for Mumford & Sons fans. The band has to postpone three dates on their North American tour this week. However, it's for a very good reason: bassist Ted Dwane has to undergo emergency surgery to a remove a blood clot from his brain.
Mumford & Sons made the announcement on their website on Tuesday, stating that “[Dwane] has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment. The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation.” The group adds that Dwane is expected to “recover quickly” from the surgery and that the group will resume their tour with an appearance at the Bonnaroo festival this weekend.
The canceled shows were set to take place on Tuesday at the Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas, TX; on Wednesday at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, TX; and on Thursday at Mardi Gras World in New Orleans, LA. The band notes that they plan to reschedule the missed dates in the coming weeks.
