Counterfeit money thrown on Oshkosh streets

OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) - Police in Oshkosh are investigating after thousands of dollars in fake money was thrown on city streets.

Authorities say around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, there were $20 and $100 bills thrown over several blocks near the area of Jackson Street and Murdock Avenue.

A couple people picked up some of the bills and brought them to the police department.   Those people told police several others stopped and picked up more bills.

Oshkosh Police want people who grabbed the money to bring it to the police department.

Businesses are being asked to check money they take in today.
