Report: "American Idol" Exec Producers Dumped, Show Is "Waiting" on Kelly Clarkson

Changes continue to shake American Idol.   Following the departure of judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Randy Jackson, sources tell TheWrap.com that the show's longtime executive producers, Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick , are being fired.  Both of them have been with the show since it started in 2002.

Meanwhile, TheWrap.com is also reporting that negotiations for Jennifer Hudson to join the show as a judge are complete, and a deal is in place to pay the Grammy and Oscar-winning alum somewhere between four and five-and-a-half million bucks.  However, insiders say the network hasn't executed the contract yet, because they're still holding out hope that Kelly Clarkson will agree to come on board as well.

Insiders tell TheWrap.com that Kelly hasn't even been contacted to see if she's interested, but her reps confirmed Tuesday to The Wrap that "Kelly is not doing Idol ."

TheWrap.com says that if Fox decides against an all-alumni panel, keeps Keith Urban around, and then brings in a few other artists, Kelly Clarkson makes more sense than Jennifer Hudson.

But in the "let's cast former contestants as judges" stakes, insiders say Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken -- the two alumni whose names have most often been mentioned as possible judges -- haven't received offers, though a source says that if the ex-contestant panel concept moves forward, Adam's the top contender.

When contacted by ABC News Radio, a rep for Fox said the network had no comment on TheWrap.com story.
