BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WSAU) - A one mile long stretch of Interstate 94 was shut down for several hours Tuesday night after two semi trucks crashed.
The incident happened shortly after 5:00 p.m. at milepost 121. Wisconsin State Patrol investigators say one semi truck rear-ended another semi that was alongside the highway with engine failure. That striking vehicle then went into the median and caught fire, destroying the rig.
So far, no information about the driver of the truck that rear-ended the stalled truck except that his injuries were not life-threatening. He was taken to a hospital in Black River Falls for treatment. The other driver was not injured.
It took until after 9:00 p.m. to clear the wreckage and reopen the highway.
