MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - Fire destroyed a house on Milwaukee’s north side, two nights after a 14-year-old boy was killed in the same block.
Fire battalion chief John Schwengel said there were flames on each of the two floors when units arrived. Those flames also spread to a house next door.
No was home in the house where the blaze began, and no one was hurt.
Officials are not sure exactly where the fire started. The home is a total loss.
Japhet Moore was shot and killed on the same block early Saturday – and mourners filled the block for a vigil on Saturday night. The blaze occurred on Sunday night.
Three other people were wounded when the 14-year-old old was killed. They’re all expected to survive.
Police say they have several persons of interest in the shootings.
