LAKE GENEVA, WI (WTAQ) - Lake Geneva is the only place in the country where mail is delivered by boat jumpers.
It’s a summer tradition that will be 100 years old in 2016.
Teens and college students are hired to ride a delivery boat, jump to mailboxes on the docks, and jump back in the boat.
The craft never stops, and it serves about 60 mansions along Geneva Lake. It runs every morning from mid-June to mid-September.
The U.S. Postal Service pays $1 a year to Gage Marine, which operates the Lake Geneva Cruise Line. Neill Frame has been the boat’s captain for 40 years.
