Recently, American Idol alumna Kellie Pickler won Dancing with the Stars. Now, yet another American Idol alum will attempt to win yet another reality show. Ruben Studdard , Idol's season two champ, is going on NBC's The Biggest Loser.
People magazine reports that Ruben, who's struggled with his weight for years, will compete on the 15th installment of the show as part of his attempts to conquer his obesity once and for all. In 2006, the "Velvet Teddy Bear" tried an intense workout plan and strict diet, but he stopped after losing only 12 pounds because he felt sick and exhausted. Then, he became a vegetarian and lost 70 pounds, but last year, after his divorce, he started putting the weight back on.
According to People, Ruben has said in the past that he wants to lose weight because of his family's history of high blood pressure, diabetes and heart problems.
