Justin Bieber 's been hyping his new album Believe Acoustic for weeks now, but the album has finally arrived -- and with it, the music that The Bieb describes as "super honest" and "me."
The 11-track album features acoustic versions of eight songs from Justin's previous album, Believe : "Boyfriend," "As Long as You Love Me," "Beauty and a Beat," "All Around the World," "Take You," "Be Alright" and "She Don't Like the Lights," and what's described as a "live studio version" of "Fall."
In addition, fans get three previously-unreleased songs: "Yellow Raincoat," "I Would" and "Nothing Like Us," a ballad which Justin wrote about his breakup with Selena Gomez . "Wrote from my heart. hope u like it," Justin tweeted about the new material on the disc.
Justin says his new material shows his progression from teen pop star to serious artist, and reflects that fact that he's much more personally involved with the creation of his music these days.
"I've definitely grown, as far as, just the fact that I'm so super-involved with my project," he tells ABC News Radio. "And, just, the music that I'm doing now is just super, super.....like, it's me. "
Explaining why his previous work didn't always reflect his deepest thoughts and feelings, Justin says, "With the other songs...I wrote with a lot of other people." But now, he says, "The music I'm making now is super...honest, and I think that people are gonna respect it."
Justin will promote Believe Acoustic with an appearance on Saturday Night Live February 9: he'll host the show and serve as the musical guest. This past weekend, he filmed scenes for his new 3D movie during his concert in Miami, bringing out Jaden Smith , Mike Posner , Big Sean , Ludacris and Cody Simpson as special guests. Like his previous 3D film, Never Say Never, this new one is directed by Jon M. Chu . No word yet on when it'll hit theaters.
