MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - A fifteen-foot shot by Traevon Jackson gave the Wisconsin Badgers a 45-44 victory in a defensive-dominated game at home against Minnesota Saturday.
Four seconds were left on the clock when Jackson hit the game-winner from the right side. It was the 4th straight loss for the Golden Gophers.
They had a chance with 1.8 seconds left, but Rodney Williams missed the second free throw in a one-and-one bonus. Badger coach Bo Ryan had chosen Williams to shoot the free throw when the man fouled was injured.
Sam Dekker and Ryan Evans led Wisconsin with 10 points apiece as the Badgers stopped a two-game losing streak. Andre Hollins scored 20 to lead Minnesota.
Wisconsin’s record improves to 14-6, including 5-2 in Big Ten Conference play.
