DELAFIELD, WI (WTAQ) - Waukesha County authorities said a sheriff’s deputy shot and wounded a suicidal man.
It happened around 2 p.m. Tuesday at a home in Delafield.
A woman called 911 and said her relative was suicidal, and had fired a shot inside the house.
When officers arrived, they ordered the 31-year-old man to drop his shotgun. He didn’t – and he was shot by a 22-year veteran of the Waukesha sheriff’s department.
The woman and the officer were not hurt.
The suicidal man was taken to Milwaukee’s Froedtert Hospital, and his condition was not known. Deputies from neighboring Walworth County are investigating the incident.
