It took more than seven minutes for the Green Bay Phoenix to make a basket in Dayton, Ohio Thursday night and by the time the lid came off, it was too late as they fell to Wright State 64-53 in their Horizon League opener. Green Bay shot only 29 percent from the floor in the first half, 36.2% for the game. A three point basket by Greg Mays at the first half buzzer brought GB to within 9 but the Raiders scored the first 8 points of the second half to sieze control. Brennan Cougill led Green Bay with 17 points, Kiefer Sykes added 11 but didn't make a field goal until late in the second half. Alec Brown made only one of seven shots for five points. Green Bay (6-8, 0-1) stays on the road to meet Detroit Saturday afternoon. The Titans opened league play with a 74-59 victory over UW-Milwaukee.
