Jolly reinstated

Johnny Jolly has suffered long enough in the eyes of the National Football League.  Commissioner Roger Goodell has reinstated Jolly after serving a suspension for the past three years after violating the league's substance abuse policy.   The former 6th round draft pick of the Packers played his last game in the 2009 overtime playoff loss to the Cardinals in Arizona.   In the off-season that year, Jolly was charged with posessing codeine and was suspended indefinately.   He was eventually convicted of posession with intent to deliver and was given a six year prison sentence.  He served six months before getting released on a restrictive probation.  Jolly just turned 30 earlier this month and claims he has been clean for nearly a year.   The Packers still hold his NFL contractural rights, signing him to a one year, two and a half million dollar tender as a restricted free agent in 2010.  The team can return Jolly to the roster on that existing contract, renegotiate a new deal, or release him.
