GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - A Green Bay apartment complex had to be evacuated after the SWAT team was called there because of a man threatening suicide.

The man's friend called police to the east side complex around 5 a.m. Sunday, saying he had several knives and was threatening suicide.

Officials say the man is in his 20s.

Police evacuated people from adjoining apartments at Deckner Manor but say the public was never in danger.

The man surrendered to police around 6:30 a.m. He was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but officials say he was not hurt.
