ELLSWORTH, WI (WSAU) -  Investigators are looking into the death of a person found inside of a burned vehicle Saturday.

The burned vehicle and human remains were found Saturday about five miles from Ellsworth in the yard of a vacant farm house. The vehicle was no longer burning when Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies arrived. The scene was reported to deputies by a passerby at 8:20 a.m.

The victim’s body has been sent to the Ramsey County Minnesota Medical Examiner’s office. They will try to make a positive identification of the victim and determine the exact cause of death.
