The Bay Port Pirates have ended the four year reign of Wisconsin Rapids as the number one high school wrestling team in Division 1 by beating Rapids 41-15 in the D1 Team Wrestling Sectional Final Tuesday night at a jam packed Bay Port gym. The third ranked Pirates, the Fox River Classic Conference Champs, won 10 of 14 matches to secure their first sectional victory since 1985. Rapids had not only won the last four state championships, but have dominated the division with 16 out of the last 18 titles. In Division 2, Luxemburg-Casco defeated Oconto Falls 35-22. The top ranked Spartans also beat Falls in a regular season dual for the Packerland Conference title. This will be the 15th trip to state for L-C and they will be seeking their 11th state team championship. In Division 3, Coleman defeated Edgar 38-24 and the Cougars will by vying for their 4th straight team title at the state meet next month.
