Pink graces the cover of the new issue of Redbook magazine, and inside, she recalls a time when she was told she'd never be on a magazine cover...because she wasn't attractive.
Pink tells Redbook that she doesn't "rest on her looks," because she's "had people tell me from day one, 'You're never going to get magazine covers because you're not pretty enough.'" Of course, by now, the Grammy-winning superstar has not only graced the cover of countless publications, but also is the latest face of CoverGirl. Still, she says being considered gorgeous and glam isn't anything she strives for on a daily basis.
"I was always considered butch," she tells Redbook . "Feeling beautiful to me is when I feel good in my leather pants and my husband grabs my [butt]. Or when I'm sitting on a mat and my daughter runs to me with complete joy."
Pink sums it up this way: "Beautiful has never been my goal. Joy is my goal -- to feel healthy and strong and powerful and useful and engaged and intelligent and in love. It’s about joy. And there's such joy now."
