GREEN LAKE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) - State and local investigators are trying to determine the cause of a house fire that killed a person in south central Wisconsin.
It happened around 4 a.m. Tuesday near Princeton.
Green Lake County authorities were first told that a wooded area appeared to be on fire. When they arrived, they saw a house engulfed in flames – and they found the victim’s body inside the house while they were fighting the fire.
Officials are not sure if the victim was the homeowner, but they say the owner has yet to be located.
The victim’s remains were taken to the Fond du Lac County medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
