PRESCOTT, Wis. (WSAU) -- A crash involving a truck and a sport utility vehicle Thursday claimed an additional life over the weekend.

Pierce County’s medical examiner says 5-year-old Laynie Jo Amos of Amery died Saturday afternoon.

Amos is the third fatality from the crash. Her cousins, 11-year-old Lydia Milberg from Centuria and 5-year-old Clara Pavek from Prescott died shortly after the crash Thursday.

32-year-old Kari Milberg of Centuria is Lydia’s mother. She remains hospitalized in critical condition at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. She also has a 3-year-old son that received minor injuries in the crash.

The truck was driven by 24-year-old Jose Mendoza of Rockford, Illinois. No one in Mendoza’s vehicle was seriously hurt.

The crash happened at 3:40 p.m. on Highway 35 near 468th Avenue near Prescott. Pierce County Sheriff’s Department and Wisconsin State Patrol are investigating the crash.
