MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Before kids go back to school next month, their parents are being asked to make sure they’re immunized.
State health officer Henry Anderson says vaccines are the safest and most cost-effective ways to keep people from getting sick – and that includes everybody, not just youngsters.
The state has a variety of vaccination requirements for children of different ages. Some vaccines are also recommended for young people who are about to start college.
Local health departments will offer vaccines supplied by the state.
Anderson says families with insurance should make appointments with their normal care providers.
