UNDATED (WSAU) - Wisconsin and Minnesota officials have narrowed down the cause of a food borne illness that has affected hundreds of people.
The bug called Cyclospora has been affecting people in fifteen states, and Nebraska and Iowa officials have traced it to prepackaged salad. Wisconsin and Minnesota officials haven’t found the source yet.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is trying to find out how the outbreak began, and if the cases in all fifteen states are tied to one source, such as a single farm or processor. Health officials urge everyone to thoroughly wash fruits, vegetables, and other garden produce before eating them.
