The Milwaukee Brewers launched five home runs and hit three triples, piling up 34 total bases in a 10-4 rout of the Pittsburgh Pirates that opened up a nine game homestand at Miller Park. The outburst comes a day after getting shutout by the Dodgers. Pittsburgh opened the scoring with a run in the first against Yovani Gallardo but the Crew responded with five in the bottom half against Wandy Rodriguez. Jean Segura connected on a two run homer in the first. Gallardo helped himself with a solo home run in the 4th, the 12th of his career. Nori Aoki made it 7-2 with a back to back shot. The Brewers went back to back again in the 5th inning with Carlos Gomez and Yuniesky Betancourt going deep. Segura, Gomez and Martin Maldanado legged out the triples. Gallardo meanwhile, settled down, working seven innings to improve to 3-1, allowing only three hits and one earned run. The Brewers have won seven straight at home and are now 45-7 at Miller Park against the Pirates since 2007. Marco Estrada pitches Tuesday night, the game can be heard on WTAQ at 6:35 PM.
