Milwaukee Brewers scoreless streak continues in 8-0 loss to St. Louis

by

ST. LOUIS (WTAQ) - Brewer ace Yovani Gallardo was pitching pretty well – until the St. Louis Cardinals exploded for seven runs in the sixth inning.

Gallardo has lost 10 of 11 decisions to St. Louis, including Saturday night’s 8-0 defeat. He wound up allowing 6 runs on 7 hits in five-and-a-third innings.

He was simply outpitched. Adam Wainwright pitched a four-hit shutout and drove in all the runs he needed with two RBIs on three hits.

The Brewers haven’t scored a run in 25 innings and Cardinal pitchers now have three shutouts in a row.

Milwaukee is playing without two of its top hitters, Corey Hart and Aramis Ramirez. A gimpy Ryan Braun fanned 3 times for a second game in a row.

The Brewers try to salvage a winning Sunday, sending Marco Estrada out against lefty Jaime Garcia.
