Invites to the coveted Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Ball are almost impossible to score but Beyonce 's done one better having been announced as the honorary chair for the fashion bash. According to Women's Wear Daily , Queen Bey will preside over the benefit, which take places on May 6 at New York's Metropolitan Museum.
Time magazine reports that Beyonce will be joined by benefit co-chairs who include actress Rooney Mara , Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and Riccardo Tisci of the fashion house Givenchy. The benefit will celebrate the museum's "Punk: Chaos to Couture" exhibition, which officially opens on May 9 and runs until August 14. About 14 looks from the fashion houses of Vivienne Westwood , Alexander McQueen , Chanel, Versace and others will be featured, highlighting how the punk rock movement has influenced fashion from the 1970s to today.
Of course, this isn't Bey's first time at the gala: you may remember the star's fashionably late arrival last year in a see-through, black lace dress by Givenchy that got fans and fashionistas talking.
