Brewers fans return to tailgating for Opening Day at Miller Park

MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - Milwaukee’s biggest cookout will be renewed Monday, when Brewers’ fans fire up the grills for the baseball season’s first tailgating outside of Miller Park.

The usual sellout crowd of 42,000-plus is expected for the Brewers’ Opening Day contest against the Colorado Rockies. It should be about 60-degrees for the game, under the stadium’s retractable roof.

But it will be much colder for the pre-game partying. A high of only 34 degrees is expected, under sunny skies. Milwaukee’s normal high for the date is 48.

Once inside the ballpark, fans will find lots to do. Among the new things is a 25 foot climbing wall in the highest part of the seating areas, the Dew Deck above the right field bleachers.

Yovani Gallardo will make his fourth straight Opening Day start for the Brew Crew.

The team won its division two years ago, but struggled last summer before rallying to finish at 83-and-79 – just barely missing the playoffs.

Monday’s first pitch is at 1:10, pregame is at 12:35 right here on 97.5/1360 News Talk WTAQ.
