Green Bay Packers win shootout over Saints 28-27

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - It was an offensive display between two struggling teams, with the Green Bay Packers holding off the winless New Orleans Saints 28-27 at Lambeau Field Sunday.

Saints kicker Garrett Hartley missed a 48 yard field goal, following a pair of penalties forced re-kicks, and the Packers got a first down to seal the one point victory.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers finished the day 31-of-41 for 319 yards, 4 touchdown passes and one interception. Wide receiver James Jones caught two of those scores, along with the game winning first-down catch.

Saints QB Drew Brees was 35-of-54 for 446 yards and 3 TD's. Brees tied an NFL record for most consecutive games with a touchdown pass thrown at 47, evening the mark set by Hall of Famer Johnny Unitas.

The game began with a warm welcome back to regular NFL referees after the lockout was lifted on Thursday, but soon returned to fan outrage after several blown calls.

The Packers improve to 2-2 on the season, the Saints fell to 0-4.
