Brewers Post Season honors

by
Milwaukee Brewers.
Milwaukee Brewers.

The Milwaukee chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America announced it's post-season awards for the Milwaukee Brewers.   Ryan Braun and Yovani Gallardo were unanimous picks for the team's most valuable player and most valuable pitcher.  Braun, a candidate for a second straight National League MVP put up big numbers again offensively, hitting .319 with a league leading 41 home runs and 112 runs batted in.  Gallardo floundered much of the season but was big down the stretch as the Brewers battled for a wild card spot, finishing the year with a 16-9 record.  Third baseman Aramis Ramirez nudged out Norichika Aoki as the newcomer of the year and pitcher Marco Estrada was given the unsung hero award for helping out the Brewers pitching staff in the starting rotation and out of the bullpen.
