The Taken star was booked for an interview on ESPN's SportsCenter show to promote the sequel to the kidnap thriller, days after attending Sunday's (30Sep12) American football clash between the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Jets, which ended in a disastrous 34-0 loss at home for the Big Apple team.
However, Neeson, who lives in New York, appeared to have had no idea he was going to be asked about the football upset and was caught off guard when quizzed about the big game, prompting him to go completely blank for a few seconds before asking producers if he could start the segment again.
Letting slip the expletive, he said, ""OK, we better start again, can I? Are we live? Oh s**t!""
Neeson then tried his best to smooth over the situation, admitting he knew very little about American football: ""OK, I'll be very honest with you. It's only the second football game I've been at in my life, I still don't understand the rules, but on Sunday, yes I know the Jets got trounced, but it was great to just celebrate great athleticism in front of 82,000 people.""
