APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) - Appleton police arrest a man following a brief standoff Sunday.
Authorities say it began when a woman came to the Appleton Police Department just before 10 a.m. to report a domestic battery incident.
"It was determined that a weapon had been used as part of the battery and officers were deployed up to the 2400 block of North Division Street to start to investigate the incident a bit further," Appleton Police Sgt. Dave Lund told FOX 11.
Officials said the man at the home wouldn't come out, and at approximately 12:45 p.m., a SWAT team was called to the home.
A perimeter was set up for about 45 minutes, and the immediate area was evacuated.
"Officers did see the subject come out of the residence about 1:20 this afternoon, and upon giving him commands, they were able to take him into custody without incident," Lund said.
The investigation continues.
