Lady Gaga has a shelf full of awards at home, but on Tuesday, she'll travel to Iceland to accept a unique honor -- from Yoko Ono , widow of Beatles legend John Lennon .

On October 9, Ono will be Reykjavik, Iceland to present the LennonOno Grants for Peace, which are given out every two years.  The grant is a certain amount of money, thought to be around 50 thousand dollars, and this year, Gaga is one of the recipients.  She will donate her prize money to the Elton John AIDS Foundation, to help it fight HIV among disadvantaged American youth.

Explaining why Gaga has been chosen for the award, Ono says, "Lady Gaga is one of the biggest living artists of our time.  She is not only an artist, she is also an activist, using her art to bring better communication to the world   She is being acknowledged for her activism, and [for] how her album Born This Way has widely changed the mental map of the world [for] how it has made us deal with the future world, which happens to be here already.”  Ono and Gaga are friendly and have performed on stage together.

In other Lady Gaga news, according to the social networking statistic site Starcount.com , she's become the first person ever to pass the 30 million mark in Twitter followers.  She's averaging about 30,000 new followers a day.  Her closest Twitter rival is Justin Bieber, who has 29.2 million followers.

Finally, Gaga is making headlines, not because of something she did, but because of something one of her friends did.  Her buddy, famed photographer Terry Richardson , has posted on Gaga's social networking site LittleMonsters.com a photo of Gaga and designer Donatella Versace together.  In the photo, Gaga is topless, and one of her naked breasts can be clearly seen.

In a caption, Richardson says that the photo was taken "in Gianni's bathroom."  This refers to a room in an apartment that once belonged to Donatella's late brother, designer Gianni Versace , who was murdered in 1997.  There are other photos of Gaga and Donatella together on the site captioned "in Gianni's apartment"; Gaga is clothed in those.  It's not clear when they were taken.
