MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) A Marshfield-based company that specializes in DNA Banking and genetic testing is helping the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services promote “National Family History Day,” which is held every year in conjunction with Thanksgiving.
Donna Dorshorst from “Prevention Genetics” says it’s a chance to find out about your genetic heritage, on a day when families are together to talk. Dorshorst says DNA banking is becoming an increasingly popular, inexpensive, and effective way to document health history for generations yet to come. This is the 9th annual National Family History Day, first observed in 2004 as part of the Surgeon General’s family history initiative.
