'Twilight: Breaking Dawn — Part 2' Trailer Debuts at the 2012 MTV VMAs

By Lindsey DiMattina, Hollywood.com Staff

Holy smokes, it's almost here: the final flick in the Twilight series, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2. While the movie isn't set for release for another two months, Twihards got a taste of Edward and Bella Cullen's final bow when MTV debuted the official trailer for the movie during the 2012 Video Music Awards Thursday night. (See it embedded below!) Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Peter Facinelli took the stage to introduce the teaser, just before the Best New Artist award was handed to One Direction.

At the end of Part One, we watched as Bella (Kristen Stewart) transformed into a vampire. And, in the trailer, we are introduced to the living and breathing vampire Bella for the first time. In the spot, we see the heroine trying out her new supernatural abilities, flying through the air and jumping off cliffs. And it seems that she has figured out her powers just in time -- a war is about to begin.

As Maggie Grace's Irina announces, the Cullen family has done ""something terrible"" — and now, the Volturi are coming to fight them. As we have seen in the past, it looks as though the wolves side with the Cullens to protect Bella (and the ""terrible"" mistake, which is presumably Renesmee, Edward and Bella's half human half vampire daughter).

""I've never been afraid of vampires,"" Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) proudly proclaims. Bella adds, ""I'll never let anybody hurt you,"" talking to her beloved daughter.

We are left with scenes of an epic battle. Who will come out the victors? We have to wait until Breaking Dawn — Part 2 premieres Nov. 16 to find out who wins this final Twilight war. Or just, you know, read the book.
