MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - Prosecutors in Milwaukee said a 53-year-old man repeatedly stabbed another man to death, right after the victim slapped the suspect’s girlfriend.

Jerrome Dubose is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 42-year-old Mark Chatman. The incident happened last Thursday night at Dubose’s apartment.

Authorities said Dubose and his girlfriend were watching TV when Chatman came over to see if his aunt was there. She wasn’t. And police said an argument began in which Chatman slapped the woman on the cheeks.

Dubose allegedly responded by punching Chatman – and when the victim collapsed, the suspect reportedly grabbed a large kitchen knife and kept stabbing him.

Officials said Chatman had a dozen stab wounds to his upper body and hands – and he died at the scene.
