When Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" was performed on Glee a few days after her death, it was just a coincidence -- the episode had been shot far in advance. But now, the show is planning a full-blown tribute to the late diva, who died February 11.
A source confirms to E! Online that Glee is currently shooting an episode dedicated to Whitney's music, in which eight of her songs will be featured. Indeed, star Lea Michele tweeted on Friday, "Starting a new episode today. A very special tribute to one of the worlds most amazing singers. Very excited about this one."
The source tells E! Online that rather than being a regular tribute, Whitney's music will be used "as a way to say goodbye...to respectfully say thank you for her music." The show will reportedly focus on those characters who are graduating seniors, and the music will reflect that they're having a hard time letting go.
The next new Glee episode airs April 10; it's not clear when the Whitney tribute will air.
