MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - A Friday evening fire near the University of Wisconsin campus in Madison forces about 100 people out into the coal. The fire in the 300 block of North Brooks Street was reported at about 6:30 p.m. There were no fatalities, but an unknown number of people did suffer injuries. The displaced residents were being held by the Madison Fire Department and the American Red Cross. The building is a community housing complex. The fire apparently started in its kitchen.
