Ryan Tedder Working on Two New Beyonce Projects, Says She "Steers the Ship"

Motherhood isn't slowing Beyonce down.  According to OneRepublic 's Ryan Tedder -- who worked with Beyonce on both I Am...Sasha Fierce and 4 -- he's already talking to Blue Ivy Carter 's mom about her next album, or albums.  "There's two projects happening," says Ryan.  "So all I can say is that with Beyonce, you kind of feed her the best that you have and she's like this phenomenal filter."

Speaking backstage at the Grammys, where he collected his first-ever trophy for his work on Adele 's album 21 , Ryan said that Beyonce is very much in charge when it comes to their collaborations.  "Without question, she steers the ship," he says.  "She's one of those artists -- much like Adele -- there's a handful of those artists...they're not relying on guys like me to walk in and be, like, 'Here, sing this.'...[with] Beyonce, you just let her go, you know.  She's ridiculous."

And, Ryan says, Beyonce definitely knows what she wants, music-wise.  "She takes it all in and she can identify what the next thing is," he explains.  "She's not interested in 2012.  [She's like,] 'What's 2013? What's 2014'?"

Of course, Ryan's work with Beyonce is taking him away from his own new album with OneRepublic, which is why, he says, it has to be so good.  "For every day that I'm not in the studio with someone else, I feel like I need to really be justifying it," he explains.  "So for OneRepublic we think...everybody involved in this thinks, that this this can be the album for us, the huge breakout album.  So, we're gonna give it everything."
