GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - A man charged in the death of his girlfriend's toddler will stand trial.

29-year-old Daniel Vega is facing charges of reckless homicide and child abuse.

Green Bay police say Vega caused head injuries to the 13-month-old girl, who was found unresponsive in her bed in an apartment on the city's west side in August.

Vega was arrested later in Arizona.

At a preliminary hearing Wednesday, a judge decided there was enough evidence to send Vega to trial.

He is due back in court to enter a plea to the charges February 21.
