Badgers push aside Phoenix

The in-state rivalry between Wisconsin and the Green Bay Phoenix resumed Wednesday night at the Kohl Center, a building in which the Phoenix has never won.  Make it 0 for 16 in Madison as the Badgers scored a 65-54 victory.   Green Bay was inspired early, grabbing a 21-14 lead over the first 16 minutes but the Badgers started a 25-6 run late in the half and continued it after intermission to seize control of the game.   The Badgers were led by Ryan Evans with 13 points, Jarred Berggren and freshman Sam Dekker each tallied 10.   Dekker hit a pair of three's and had an alley-oop dunk during the surge.   Green Bay was led by Kiefer Sykes with 14 points while Brennan Cougill had 12 points and 12 rebounds.   Wisconsin improves to 7-4 with the victory and they'll now be off 10 days for final exams while Green Bay drops to 3-6 and will come off an arduous road trip to return to the Resch Center Saturday night hosting Southern Illinois at 7:00 PM.
