MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - For a while it looked like the large crowds of Wisconsin fans seen in the past would be much smaller this bowl season.

Then, a series of unexpected events made some big changes.

Head coach Bret Bielema was introduced as the new coach in Arkansas – and Hall of Fame coach Barry Alvarez agreed to make a one-game comeback and coach the Badgers in next month’s Rose Bowl.

Ticket sales jumped. Badger Nation is headed to Pasadena in big numbers.

Depending on air fares, packages are said to be cost $2,100 to $2,300.

Delta Air Lines has already added one nonstop flight from Madison to Los Angeles International with 144 seats, departing Dane County Regional December 29th and including a red-eye return on January 2nd. If demand keeps growing, another flight could be added pretty soon.
