APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) - The 2012 Salvation Army-Fox Cities red kettle match day brought in $299,132.
Officials say Thrivent Financial had agreed to match donations up to $125,000.
Residents in the Fox Valley opened up their wallets last Friday to help continue to make it the single largest match day in the nation for the Salvation Army.
The Christmas campaign runs until December 24. The goal for the Fox Cities campaign is $1.2 million. Salvation Army leaders say they are still in need of bell ringers. Click here to sign up.
