Hall of Fame Packers QB Bart Starr fine after collapsing in Madison

MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback and coach Bart Starr collapsed during a speaking engagement in Madison Tuesday.

WMTV-TV reports Starr is expected to be okay following the incident during a housing and economic development conference at the Monona Terrace.

Officials say Starr passed out toward the end of his keynote speech, but regained consciousness and continued speaking.

Starr was checked out by emergency crews, but did not go to the hospital. The Pro Football Hall-of-Famer was deemed fine and he went on his way.

The 78-year-old Starr was a quarterback for the Packers from 1956 until 1971. He led the Packers to five NFL championships in the 1960s under coach Vince Lombardi. He later coached the team from 1975 until 1983.
