The Pittsburgh Pirates opened the season ending home series at Miller Park with a 9-8 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers Monday night. Shawn Marcum gave up 7 runs in four plus innings as the Pirates got three RBI's each from Alex Presley and Pedro Alvarez. The Crew tried battling back but failed to score in the 8th after loading the bases with one out and a leadoff triple was wasted in the 9th inning. Takashi Saito took the loss in relief. Despite the loss, Milwaukee still leads Arizona by one game for the number 2 seed in the National League. The Central Division champs will send Randy Wolf against Ross Ohlendorff Tuesday night. If the Brewers win the final two games of the regular season, they'll break the franchise record for wins in a season and ensure they'll be home for the National League Division series opening Saturday night.
