The former Cheers star was invited to pay tribute to those who perished during the devastating terrorist attacks on 11 September, 2001, at the Long Island Remembers 10th anniversary tribute in New York on Sunday (11Sep11), but event organisers claim the event was soured when Alley threatened to cancel her appearance if they didn't charter a helicopter for her.
A rep told the New York Post, ""We couldn't believe it. It's a memorial service, not a party.""
The actress ultimately arrived at the event by car with her pal Nicole Scherzinger, and sources insist she stayed for several hours and was ""very friendly"".
And now Alley's rep has dismissed the diva behaviour rumours, insisting the actress was simply being time conscious.
The publicist says, ""Kirstie was coming from Pennsylvania that morning, and was simply exploring all options of transportation, from Amtrak (train) to helicopter, in order to ensure she made it on time to respect those being remembered. At no point was a demand made. Also she ended up taking an SUV, not a limo.
""Further, at no point did she consider cancelling the appearance and was happy to honour the firefighters, police officers and emergency services personnel in remembrance of the 10th anniversary of 9/11.""
