GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - A man who allegedly stole from a casket will stand trial.

40-year-old Steven Conard waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday in Brown County court.

Conard, a worker at an Allouez cemetary, is charged with stealing a $2,000 guitar from a man's crypt.

He allegedly told police, "this isn't something I normally do. I just have a respect for fine musical instruments."

The guitar has been returned to the crypt. Conard is due back in court to enter a plea on Monday.
