MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - The Madison School District has agreed to release teachers’ sick notes which were submitted during last February’s protest against Wisconsin’s new labor law. The district is complying with a request from “The State Journal” to turn in more than one-thousand notes. The teachers’ names and other information will be removed from the notes. A Dane County judge ruled the district was violating the state’s open records law by denying newspaper access to all the notes, though the district had argued it was protecting sensitive medical information.
