MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Wisconsin’s Air National Guard has resumed training flights out of Madison, after a June seventh incident in which an F-16 crashed into a vacation home.
The Guard tells the Wisconsin State Journal there was an extensive review of equipment and maintenance policies for the 115th Fighter Wing.
Lieutenant Colonel Jackie Guthrie said all aircraft and inspection items are quote, “in compliance with applicable regulations and checklists.” She said the planes resumed their flying status nine days ago, a week after the crash.
Officers from the Langley Air Force Base in Virginia are investigating the cause of the incident, in which the F-16 hit the empty summer home in the Adams County town of New Chester.
About 50 people were evacuated, and the pilot escaped serious injury.
